Europe’s power system is evolving at extraordinary speed. Rapid expansion of wind and solar, accelerating electrification, and the emergence of large new digital loads, such as AI‑driven data centers, are fundamentally reshaping how the grid operates. Together, these forces are creating a system that behaves very differently from the predictable, fossil‑based model of the past.
This breakfast session will launch a new Hitachi Energy–WindEurope report and open a strategic discussion on how Europe can manage growing grid complexity. Speakers will explore how rising renewable penetration, digitalization, and power‑electronics‑based infrastructure are redefining the fundamentals of grid planning and operations. Discussions will also focus on what tools, technologies, and policy shifts are needed to ensure a secure, affordable and sustainable electricity system.
Format: Breakfast session + report launch + discussion
