Inflation Reduction Act: Opportunities and challenges for clean energy and transportation

The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA), the single largest investment in climate and energy in U.S. history, will unleash significant investment in clean energy and transportation in the U.S. 

Participants will gain a greater understanding of the opportunities and challenges around four major areas related to the IRA’s clean energy and transportation-related provisions: 

  • Demand- and supply-side information for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids in lieu of the Clean Vehicle credits and discussion of Hitachi Energy’s modeling.
  • Overview of production and investment tax credits and Hitachi Energy’s Power Reference Case capabilities.
  • Overview of tax credits for green hydrogen and how Hitachi Energy’s Power Reference Case’s modeling can assist in evaluating potential for green hydrogen in the U.S.
  • Emissions reduction goals with an emphasis on carbon emission reduction in the power sector.
