Innovative design, world-class manufacturing & quality assurance to minimize SF₆ emissions and total lifecycle carbon footprint.
For decades, sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆) has been widely used in the electrical industry due to its excellent insulation and switching capabilities. However, it is a greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming if leaked.
Hitachi Energy is continuously reducing the use of SF₆, improving its lifecycle management, and accelerating the development of eco-efficient products. In 2021, Hitachi Energy introduced its eco-efficient EconiQ high-voltage portfolio which contains no SF₆. Our EconiQ high-voltage portfolio is enabling our customers and the industry as a whole to rapidly transition to eco-efficient solutions.
Within the years of the transition phase to come, manufacturers and utilities must reduce SF₆ leakage as much as possible. Many efforts have been done to reduce SF₆ leakages in high-voltage equipment, but the industry continues to face challenges in further lowering these leakages and overall carbon footprint.
In this webinar entitled “Total SF₆ management & sealing technologies,” we will focus on solutions that can help our customers to significantly reduce lifecycle carbon footprint originating from leakages.
